WHAT ART MATERIALS DOES MARILYN USE?
Marilyn creates High Quality Unique Art that truly stands out. She uses only Archival Quality Materials.
- BIRCH WOOD - Used for the backboard base of paintings. It is knot free with a very smooth surface.
- CLAY - Oven-fired clay as a base for the Original Sculptures and then she builds upon that with air-dry clay.
- CASTS - Brushed on resin for the large cast sculptures and smooth cast #320 for the small cast sculptures.
- ARTIST GRADE OIL PAINTS - Winsor & Newton and Gamblin Premium oil paints.
- CUSTOM HIGH QUALITY WOOD FRAMES - Hand picked wood and frame style to accentuate each painting, then we frame the painting ourselves.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL AND LIMITED EDITION ORIGINALS?
Marilyn always creates THE ORIGINAL first, there is always only one, and it may take many years before it is complete in her eyes. THE ORIGINAL, of any piece, has THE ORIGINAL CLAY used to make the sculpture which makes THE ORIGINAL truly unique. A mold is then made from THE ORIGINAL SCULPTURE which allows us to make a few resin casts to be used to make a few LIMITED EDITION ORIGINALS. These resin sculpture casts are attached to the same type and size of backboard of THE ORIGINAL and then Marilyn paints the new piece by hand again which looks like THE ORIGINAL, but may have a slightly differently originality. The resin sculpture cast is lighter and more durable than the original clay sculpture. Another difference is that LIMITED EDITION ORIGINALS may only take a few months to create as opposed to the many years it took to perfect THE ORIGINAL. We expect Marilyn will not produce more than 10 LIMITED EDITION ORIGINALS of any piece and she can only create a few sculpted paintings per year which makes the total amount of unique sculpted paintings truly limited. Rather than making dozens of LIMITED EDITION ORIGINALS, Marilyn would prefer to create a new original every year. Regardless of which type of original you choose, Marilyn's Sculped Paintings are her life's work and they are truly one of a kind!
IS SHIPPING FREE?
YES! Also, if shipping is not too far and we can align our schedule with yours, we prefer to deliver each sculpted painting ourselves. If you would like to meet the artist, Marilyn always loves to meet anyone who appreciates and owns her art! We may also be able to professionally mount the sculpted paintings on your wall.
HOW DO I PURCHASE A PRINT OF MARILYN'S SCULPTED PAINTINGS?
We have made prints available from many quality online print websites such as ZAZZLE, ArtPal, etc. We prefer the quality and options of ZAZZLE because they offer prints on acrylic, metal, canvas, wood, and archival quality paper. We feel the 3D aspect of her art is most pronounced on the quality of acrylic and metal prints. At our ZAZZLE GALLERY STORE site, you can find many other products with Marilyn's art as well. Just click on any print site link on the sculpted painting page of your choice and choose your options on that website. HOW CAN I SEE MARILYN'S SCULPTED PAINTINGS IN PERSON BEFORE I PURCHASE?
On occasion we will display in Galleries and other venues, on various Media and other Websites, set up a booth at Art Festivals, present her art at Private Parties, or entertain collectors at Our Home Showroom in Los Angeles which is conveniently located near LAX. Contact Us if you would like a private showing. If you are traveling from out of town, there are many hotels near our Home Showroom to choose from.
